Since 2023, all Russian schools have been implementing a unified model of vocational guidance for schoolchildren, in which the organization of the educational process according to the “Pre-Vocation-Oriented Grade” model is considered an actual form of career guidance for students with a sustained interest in a specific field of future professional activity. Currently, there is a tendency in pedagogical practice to implement this model not only at the level of secondary general education, but also basic general education. The article presents the conceptual positions of the emerging approach in St. Petersburg school educational organizations to the implementation of the “Pre-Vocation-Oriented Grade” educational model in primary schools (engineering, technology, engineering and natural science areas), identified as part of the methodological support of pedagogical work in pre-vocationoriented grades, carried out by the Department of Natural Science, Mathematical Education and Computer Science of the St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate pedagogical education named after K.D. Ushinsky.
