Motivation: MR sequences can be decoupled from the MR scanner and deployed behind a network interface. However, the duration of the streamed MR sequence is limited and the sequence cannot react on any events in real-time. Goal(s): Being able to develop and deploy real-time capable MR sequences without the need to install binary software on the MR scanner. Approach: An architecture based on recursive command handlers and a specification of an MR sequence description language. Results: The feasibility of this approach is shown by successful validation of MR scanner instructions and first tests at the MR scanner. Impact: MR sequences can be developed and immediately tested on the MR scanner, become software version independent and easily can be shared. MR systems can run new MR sequences without modification, which increases software security and safety in clinical environments.
