Abstract

The Having Overdose Protection Equipment (HOPE) Act would ensure opioid overdose reversal medications, such as naloxone, are readily available in public places. The bill would explicitly allow states to use the federal State Opioid Response (SOR) grant program of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to purchase public access opioid overdose reversal kits.
