Abstract The progress of an undertaking such as fire control depends in large part on the development of increasingly effective equipment. Consequently this account of the war status of fire equipment by a man who for the past year has been devoting his entire time to the subject is of major interest to foresters generally. It was presented at a meeting of the Western Forestry and Conservation meeting at Portland, Oregon, on December 8, 1944.
