As a new format, the theoretical research of sports event tourism is immature and lacks systematic analysis, especially in China. The purpose of this study is to explore how large-scale sports events can promote the development of tourism, and put forward optimization strategies to promote the effective integration of sports events and tourism. This paper uses qualitative and quantitative methods to quantitatively analyze the influencing factors of sports events on tourism. The results show that sports events can significantly enhance the popularity of the venue and the number of tourists, improve infrastructure, and improve the quality of tourism services. Sports events have an important impact on the supporting system of tourism, the number of tourists, and income. In the future, the tourism development plan of sports events can be made according to the local characteristics, and the management level and service quality can be improved to realize the sustainable development of the industry.
