This study examines the Calabar Carnival's revival after two years of suspension and its contribution to community resilience in post-pandemic recovery. The authors adopted a convergent parallel mixed-methods approach, with 398 community members quantitatively surveyed and 15 semi-structured, qualitative interviews with key stakeholders in Calabar metropolis. Results indicate that socio-cultural and economic aspects of the community significantly impact on the community's overall resilience. Viewpoints arising from interviews with stakeholders deepen our understanding of community resilience, particularly regarding their security concerns. The interview data offers an insightful explanation of the community's resilience, being deeply rooted in their traditional rituals and beliefs. This insight is vital for event planning and execution in harnessing cultural events as tools for driving community resilience and enhancing community capacity building.
