From Myth to Ideology. The Case of Serbia (Some Manifestations)

The article points out, in several theses, the myths in Serbian culture that are taken as the source of ideological opinion. Myths are not metaphysical creations (even though they are desired to be presented as such); also, myths are actualised according to the ideological intention as well as to the political interest. The present study refers to the ideological capacity of the Kosovo myth. Although the purpose of the text is to focus on a mythical-ideological (political) character, the great and deep cultural significance of myths should not be forgotten as well as the fact that myth itself is also eminent cultural creation.
