The dynamics of beaches encompass complex mechanisms in sediment transport, which are contingent on the heterogeneous nature of sands. Understanding these mechanisms is crucial for morphodynamic modeling. This study conducted a thorough analysis of the vertical granulometric distribution of sediments on the bed, relying on laboratory experiments carried out in a wave flume and employing a laser particle counter. The bed was covered with sand mixtures obtained from two well-sorted grain-size fractions: a fine sediment (F) with a median diameter of 0.21 mm and a coarse sediment (C) with a median diameter of 0.58 mm. As observed in the experiments analyzed in this study, the initially homogeneous bed composition undergoes changes, illustrating a trend toward coarsening in the majority of the layers.
