The article is devoted to the 150 th birth anniversary of the famous Russian and Soviet obstetrician-gynecologist Vasily Vasiliyevich Preobrazhensky (1874-1944), became in 1934 the first head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Arkhangelsk State Medical Institute, who laid the foundation for development of the Northern Scientific School of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
