Biomarkers are vital instruments in modern medicine, providing information about biological processes and disease progression. Biomarkers in oncology have had a substantial impact on the development of personalised cancer treatments by predicting therapy responses and outcomes. The study investigates the different types of biomarkers, such as diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive biomarkers, and their function in precision medicine. Personalised cancer treatment, which is guided by biomarker testing, improves patient outcomes by adapting medicines to individual genetic profiles. However, obstacles such as biomarker validation, resistance to targeted medicines, and regulatory barriers persist.
