Taxonomic review of the Thysanoptyx Hampson generic complex (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Arctiinae: Lithosiini). I. The genus Collitoptyx Volynkin with descriptions of two new genera, two new subgenera and six new species

The Asiatic footman moth genus Collitoptyx Volynkin, 2023 is reviewed. Two new genera, two new subgenera and six new species are described: Medioptyx gen. n., Caliginoptyx gen. n., Collitoptyx (Insolitoptyx) subgen. n., Collitoptyx (Confusoptyx) subgen. n., Collitoptyx (Collitoptyx) fraterna sp. n. (China and northern Mainland Southeast Asia), Collitoptyx (Collitoptyx) annamia sp. n. (Central Vietnam), Collitoptyx (Insolitoptyx) meghalaya sp. n. (Northeast India), Collitoptyx (Confusoptyx) duplex sp. n. (Northeast India and northern Mainland Southeast Asia), Medioptyx kishidai sp. n. (East China), and Caliginoptyx vientiana sp. n. (northern Laos). A new combination is established: Caliginoptyx zofera (Volynkin, 2023), comb. n. A lectotype is designated for Teulisna sordida Butler, 1881. A new synonym is introduced: Collitoptyx (Collitoptyx) sordida (Butler, 1881) = Thysanoptyx manganensis N. Singh & Joshi, 2017, syn. n. Adults as well as male and female genitalia are illustrated.
