Merdeka learning is a new policy that has been designed by the government and implemented in Indonesia to improve quality aspects in education so as to produce superior students. This study aims to determine how the role of teachers in improving the quality of learning in the Merdeka curriculum and to determine the impact of teachers in improving the quality of learning in the Merdeka curriculum on students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the teacher's role in improving the quality of learning in the independent curriculum at MI Ma'arif Pagerwojo is with an independent curriculum strategy. This can be seen from what the teacher does, namely being a good facilitator for students by giving freedom to develop their interests and talents to become active and creative students.
