The article analyzes the trends in the development of the institution of recognition and enforcement of foreign court decisions over the past 20 years. The main approaches to the place of international civil procedure in the legal system are investigated. The strategy of national legislation to preserve the need for an appropriate international treaty as the main condition for the recognition and enforcement of foreign court decisions is supported.
