The article examines the features and principles of state (municipal) services, as well as trends in the development of the institution of state (municipal) services, substantiates the social significance of state (municipal) services, draws a conclusion about the existence of a specific socially-oriented ecosystem in the field of state (municipal) services, and also about the importance of the development of this institution to achieve the goals of the welfare state.
