Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) represent a significant and evolving challenge in the realm of cybersecurity. This paper comprehensively analyzes state-of-the-art APT detection techniques and mitigation strategies. We review current literature, evaluate the efficacy of various detection methods, including networkbased, host-based, and AI-driven approaches, and propose a multi-layered strategy for APT mitigation. Our findings indicate that while individual detection techniques have specific strengths, a holistic approach combining multiple methods yields the most effective defense against APTs.We also identify key areas for future research, including the potential of quantum-resistant cryptography and blockchain-based solutions for enhancing APT defense mechanisms. This work contributes to the ongoing effort to improve organizational resilience against sophisticated cyber threats.
