This article focuses on the concept of the «state as a service provider», in this context, justice is considered as a service that the state provides to its citizens. Based on this concept, some modern theoretical approaches to defining the essence of access to justice in criminal proceedings are highlighted, including the assertion that digital technologies can play a crucial role in improving access to justice.
