The research provides the assessment of the current state of organizing interaction of EMERCOM of Russia and mass media: reasons and directions for development. The connection between the interaction of EMERCOM of Russia with mass media and the formation of the positive image of emergency officials of EMERCOM of Russia is also shown. Legal monitoring of the organization of interaction of EMERCOM of Russia and mass media was carried out. The author comes to the conclusion that without proper legal regulation the achieving of the identified aims may involve additional difficulties. The proposed changes are primarily of a departmental nature. At the level of orders of EMERCOM of Russia the procedure and powers of specific officials for interaction with mass media and, accordingly, the formation of the positive image of emergency officials of EMERCOM of Russia are regulated.
