Abstract This session will look at the emerging risk of headphone use in both occupational and recreational settings and the implications for both employees and employers. The session will explore the extent of the problem in terms of sectors, modern listening habits and risk profile. Implications for legal and liability will be presented and how the use of headphones at work could be contributing to overall noise exposure or creating #hiddennoise and what can be done from a workplace noise management and hearing conservation program could entail. The session will also introduce a new campaign to influence personal sound exposure.
