Abstract: This poem centers around my childhood home in the desert while also exploring the existence of wonder alongside trauma in childhood. This poem reckons with what is ephemeral and is an elegy to that which is named fleeting and what gets to live on in the contemporary world. This poem explores how childhood trauma and generational trauma coincide, and what it means to survive it.
