The dance drama re-created with legend contains rich cultural connotation and intertextual relations. Through effective cross-cultural strategies, dance dramas can renew traditional culture and realize the ecological inheritance of culture. As a cross-text correlation mode, intertextuality puts forward new requirements for the understanding and interpretation of dance drama. The problem of absorbing new elements to meet the aesthetic needs of modern audiences while maintaining the essence of the original culture. As the creative dance drama of China and South Korea, the dance drama "The Butterfly Lovers" and the dance drama "Smile Chunhyang" have some similarities in the text structure and theme content.From the perspective of intertextuality, this study compares it from three aspects: culture, tradition and intertextuality strategy. Combining dance narration with cultural coding, it will contribute to the study of cultural differences between Chinese and Korean dance dramas with narrative themes.
