Article devoted to analysis of Russian and Western travelers, who visited the Emirate of Bukhara, on national and religious minorities. The evolution of their legal status before and after the establishing of the Russian protectorate, attitude toward authorities of the Emirate and the Empire, place in the social system of the state, professions they occupied (had right to occupy).
