Deformation analysis of spherical shell structures is significant for safety measure and structural design optimisation. Spherical shells are frequently used as important components in mechanical, aerospace, and civil engineering. In this paper, generalised Hooke’s law is taken to analyse the elastic-plastic deformations in shell-type structures. The problem of spherical shell is formulated and solved with the help of generalised strain measures and transition theory. Mathematical results are derived to show stress behaviour in the deformed spherical shell. Results obtained are shown graphically.
