The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test used to analyze electrical activity, evaluate, and diagnose various brain, neurological and psychiatric diseases. Performing the EEG exam efficiently requires technical, practical, and interpersonal skills from the specialist who performs it, which are not written anywhere for the hired intern. Therefore, the goal of this study is to provide essential support for the development of these skills. In developing the research, interdisciplinary knowledge of safety engineering, biomedical engineering, hospital engineering, and production engineering was applied, in addition to surveying the process of carrying out numerous outpatient EEG exams, also called routine EEG, and the entire context that the involves, through an internship at a neurology hospital. Thus, a concise consultation and training material was produced, which presents the factors involving the encephalography technician, the patient, the environment, and the equipment, in a hospital institution, but which can be applied in clinics, offices or even laboratories. The material developed combines rich and accessible content for beginners whose mission is to perform the EEG exam, with quality, safety, and reliability.
