As the evolution of smart power grids, renewable energy and the control of it make huge advancements in the present time, the vulnerabilities are at an all-time high. Since smart grids, power systems in general are becoming more computerized. This poses new threats for these systems. In order to understand these threats, an understanding of how power systems are constructed must first be established. This will be done by utilizing software's such as RSCAD, a user-friendly interface used to create the working environment of a power system. Additionally, the usage of RTDS, a real-time simulator for fast and accurate study of power systems, is required. Then, the focus is shifted to analyzing ways in which to extract data to eventually develop a cyber-attack on the database holding this crucial information.
