Based on the analysis of the content of general education, it is obvious that in Russian society the priorities of social and personal development, a person’s attitude to family, society, state and labor, as well as the very meaning of human life are fundamental. All this applies to the self-consciousness of the Russian person and is included in the system of basic national values. Since ancient times, parents have been the first teachers and educators of a child. The role of parents at all stages of a child’s education and upbringing has always been significant throughout the centuries. Pedagogical practice shows that children surrounded by parental attention, care and love have adequate self-esteem, a high level of empathy, self-confidence and well-developed communication skills. To realize the educational function, parents need various sources of knowledge and new information about the processes of upbringing: books, seminars, consultations of specialists, thematic films Information and communication technologies. The authors made an attempt to create a model of forming parental readiness to fulfill the educational function.
