Flexible pressure sensors have emerged as a significant sensor technology with promising and broad applicability in various sectors, such as electronic skin and health monitoring, in recent years. This study evaluates the principles, classifications, uses, and development trends of flexible pressure sensors. It reviews the research progress in terms of preparation, design, and materials, discusses technical challenges and limitations, and proposes potential solutions and future development directions. The wide range of applications and projected advancements for flexible pressure sensors in different fields are summarized.
