The purpose of this qualitative study examines the experience of art therapy for an adult with intellectual disability in a sheltered workshop whom has difficulties of forming relationship. This study conducted total 12 sessions of 60 minute art therapy twice a week from July 17, 2023 to September 23, 2023. Participant of this study is a 20s adult with intellectual disability working sheltered workshop for 8 years right after he graduated highschool. The result of this study is follows. First, the participant expresses his negative emo-tions of confusion with the relationship between other disabilities working at the sheltered workshop. Second, the participant was able to have experience of empathetic interaction, and it leads to comfort him-self from the relational difficulties. Third, The participant found the meaning of living with others. Fourth, the participant gained confidence as he expressed his emotions more deeply through art therapy. Also through this experience, the positive perception of the participant’s current life in the sheltered workshop.
