This study aimed to identify the structural relationships among taekwondo athletes" perceived emotional leadership, positive psychological capital, and perceived performance. In doing so, it provided academic and practical implications for developing effective performance enhancement strategies based on the psychological characteristics of taekwondo athletes. To this end, the following conclusions were drawn based on the validation of the research hypotheses and subsequent discussion. First, taekwondo athletes" perceived emotional leadership of their coaches significantly influenced their perceived positive psychological capital. In addition, the validity of the indirect effect from emotional leadership to positive psychological capital and perceived performance was verified. The results of this study suggest ways to improve emotional leadership as an effective performance enhancement strategy based on the psychological characteristics of taekwondo athletes.
