Objectives The purpose of this study is to present a theoretical discussion for program development for elementary school teachers to improve their teaching expertise in dance education Methods This study is a literature and discourse analysis Results The limitations of understanding dance education recognized by elementary school teachers were proposed as a direction for new program proposals along with competency factors. Accordingly, understanding of physical education subjects should be interpreted from the perspective of culture and arts education, and it is necessary to suggest ways to integrate with artificial intelligence and digital technology. In addition, creative thinking is needed for cultural diversity and technological technology development in terms of program development. Conclusions This theoretical discussion is believed to provide a theoretical basis for teachers to attempt creative teaching methods development and application on their own, along with expanding their understanding of the field of expression in elementary sports. Furthermore, it is believed that it can be provided as a driving force that can give meaning to analyzing the contents of physical education subjects and moving toward educational practice so that they can be activated in the current social and culturally changed educational environment along with the 2022 revised curriculum.
