Abstract: Spiritus: A Journal of Christian Spirituality is the official journal of the Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality (SSCS). On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Spiritus , nine scholars in this global field were invited to express their hopes for the future of their discipline, and to do so by responding to the prompt: What can and should be done to ensure that the study of Christian spirituality will have a vibrant and useful future? Recurring themes include methodological innovations, especially more contemplative approaches to research, along with greater international collaboration, intensified social engagement, and the renewal of lived Christian spirituality itself.
Wheeler et al. (Mon,) studied this question.
