Abstract In recent years, legislation on sustainability has been adopted by the EU and national authorities to increase sustainable behavior among companies, protect nature, and safeguard people. With the implementation of regulations, stakeholders in the economy are increasingly compelled to adopt a sustainability mindset and integrate it into their operations. This integration influences and shapes corporate governance, transform-ing their business models. In this article, we aim to examine the current legislation concerning sustainabil-ity and its impact on economic business models. We will explore how these laws shape business practices, encourage sustainable development, and drive changes in corporate strategies and governance structures. (JEL: Q56, G34, M14)
