This study analyzes the impact of digital technology use on child development, considering cognitive, physical, social, and emotional aspects. With increased exposure to devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and televisions, a reduction in face-to-face interactions, altered sleep patterns, and effects on learning and language skills are observed, especially during early childhood, a critical period for brain and socio-emotional development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this usage intensified, highlighting the need for supervision and time limits to mitigate negative effects. Although digital devices can provide benefits when used appropriately, excessive and unsupervised use may compromise a child’s overall development. Therefore, it is essential to promote balanced practices that combine technology, traditional play, and affectionate bonds, ensuring healthy growth and wellbeing in childhood.
