The article examines the dynastic marriages of the House of Romanov in the XIX century and their relationship with the foreign policy interests of the Russian Empire. Special attention is paid to the private lives of foreign princesses who became wives of Russian emperors. The author examines their charitable activities and activities in the field of social security of the least protected strata of Russian citizens of that period. Additionally, it was revealed that the most frequent dynastic ally in the conclusion of marriages was the German Empire, which satisfied the interests of our state to the greatest extent. The main emphasis is placed on the marriage unions of the first half of the XIX century, namely the marriages of Paul I, Alexander I and Nicholas I.
