This study aims to formulate and evaluate the characteristics of sacha inchi oil-based cleansing balm as an effective, safe, and environmentally friendly facial cleanser. Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) seed oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants, which are important for skincare product formulations. The cleansing balm was chosen as the final product due to its ability to remove dirt and makeup, while maintaining the skin’s moisture. The experiment included three different product formulations, varying the concentration of beeswax and the types of essential oils. The product characterization involved a hedonic test, physical analysis, product stability using the cycling method, and a skin irritation test using the patch test method on 25 volunteers. The best cleansing balm formulation obtained from formula C based on hedonic test, with a pH of 5.10–5.34, a melting point of 35–37°C, spreadability of 3.3–5 cm, and a cleansing time of 17–19 seconds. The irritation test showed an irritation index of 0.00, indicating no skin irritation occurred from product application.
