This contribution presents recent cross section measurements for top quark pair production (tt t t ‾) and single top quark production in association with a W boson (tW) in proton-proton collisions with the CMS experiment at LHC. For tt t t ‾ production, data from 2017 at a center-of-mass (CM) energy of 5. 02 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 302 pb ^-1 − 1 were analyzed, with a measured inclusive cross section of 62. 3 ± 1. 5 (stat) ± 2. 4 (syst) ± 1. 2 (lumi) 62. 3 ± 1. 5 (s t a t) ± 2. 4 (s y s t) ± 1. 2 (l u m i) pb, consistent with Standard Model (SM) predictions. The tW measurement was performed using data from 2022 with an integrated luminosity of 34. 7 fb ^-1 − 1 at a CM energy of 13. 6 TeV, yielding a cross section of 82. 3 ± 2. 1 (stat) ^+9. 9-₉. ₇ (syst) ± 3. 3 (lumi) 82. 3 ± 2. 1 (s t a t) − 9. 7 + 9. 9 (s y s t) ± 3. 3 (l u m i) pb, in agreement with SM predictions. It includes also differential cross sections which are in good agreement with next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics.
