The design of radiation protection systems during nuclear decommissioning plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of on-site workers. In this study, various safety measures implemented for the decommissioning of the Tsinghua University experimental shielding reactor are explored. These include the design of radiation control zones, the establishment of safe personnel routes, and the integration of both internal and external radiation protection and monitoring systems. Additionally, a comprehensive ventilation system has been designed to maintain safe working conditions. A key innovation in this project is the implementation of a digital twin system, which facilitates real-time monitoring and simulation of the decommissioning process. The integrated radiation protection system, as outlined in this study, is aimed at optimizing safety protocols, minimizing radiation exposure, and enhancing the overall efficiency of the reactor decommissioning process.
