Abstract Introduction When the WHO, in January 1998, included the approach of spirituality in patients’ lives, the quantity of scientific studies increased exponentially, and disciplines on spirituality were created in several universities. In early 2025, the Brazilian Federal Council of Medicine established a special commission to study it. Objective To ascertain the quantity and subjects of articles indexed in PubMed about spirituality, spirituality and adolescents and sexuality. Method On 01/25/2025, a search was conducted on PubMed using the keywords: spirituality, spirituality and adolescents, spirituality and adolescents and sex*. The age range considered was 13 to 18 years old. Results The table presents the number of articles by period, with their respective keywords. Of the 255 articles: 82 (32.6%) addressed adolescents; 49 (19.2%) spirituality; 31 (12.2%) religiosity; 38 (14.9%) health, education and sexual practices, HIV, rape, pregnancy, abuse, abstinence, risk behaviors, self-care, prevention, abortion, pedophilia, transgender. The studies showed that adolescents who received support, guidance, counseling, and spiritual education had more resilience, better quality of life, and felt well-being, which contributed to their sense of meaning, purpose in life, and connection with the divine. Conclusions There are still few studies combining spirituality with adolescents sexuality in this important transition between childhood and adulthood, a period marked by hormonal impact in the body and questioning in the mind. The publications highlight the importance of awareness of spirituality as a factor of resilience and relevance for the well-being of practitioners compared to non-practitioners. Financing No conflict.
