ABSTRACT In this brief article, two teacher educators share their experiences selecting picture books to use as an entry point into discussing linguistic racism with pre‐service teachers. First, we draw on LangCrit to briefly illustrate how racialized stereotypes are a form of linguistic racism. Next, we each share an example from our own work as teacher educators. We offer two picture books as examples and also provide guiding questions for teacher educators to do this work in their own classroom.
