It is demonstrated that the fusion of two deuterium nuclei can be achieved not only by the well-known high-temperature fusion reaction, but also by a low-temperature reactions that are responsible for the formation of the elemental composition of the Earth's crust from the elemental composition of interstellar matter. A theory for such reactions and additional irrefutable experimental evidence for their existence are presented. It is proposed to use such reactions to produce energy, replacing the difficult-to-implement approach based on magnetic or inertial fusion reactions. Experimental evidence of the existence of such reactions in the Earth's interior are presented.
