Abstract

Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, causes of maternal and fetal complications, can occur at any point during pregnancy, labour or postpartum. Rule-in–rule-out screening, based upon soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1) and placental growth factor (PlGF) ratio, was established to assist in the identification of pregnancies likely to develop preeclampsia.
