Introduction: Castleman disease (CD) refers to a group of disorders characterised by polyclonal lymphoid hyperplasia, vascular proliferation and hyalinisation. 1 There is also a characteristic expansion of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) in response to the dysregulated cytokine signalling that drives CD. 2 While diagnosis is primarily based on histopathology, immunohistochemical stains may be utilised to aid in the diagnosis. CD123 is a marker of pDCs and can be used as a diagnostic adjunct to support the diagnosis of CD.
