During summer 2025, we collected and tagged fish as part of a multiyear research project to assess migrational characteristics and estimate parr-to-smolt survival for wild Snake River spring/summer Chinook salmon smolts in the Snake River Basin. During each study year since 1991, we have collected wild Chinook parr in natal tributaries, implanted them with passive integrated transponder (PIT) tags, and released them near their respective collection sites. In this report, we present data on fish collection and tagging efforts during July and August 2025. Detection data will be collected from these tagged fish as they begin migration during spring 2026.
