Urbanization in Egypt has led to significant growth in informal settlements, which pose challenges for social welfare systems. Theoretical analysis will be employed to unpack the complexities of this interplay without relying on empirical data or field research. A theoretical framework for understanding and addressing urbanization-induced social welfare challenges is proposed. Policy recommendations will focus on integrating informal settlements into existing social welfare programmes and developing targeted interventions.
