Abstract

Public health surveillance systems in Nigeria are critical for monitoring infectious diseases to reduce morbidity and mortality. A multilevel logistic regression model was employed to assess the impact of various interventions at both national and subnational levels. The multilevel regression analysis indicated that vaccination coverage had a significant protective effect (OR = 1.25, CI: 1.08-1.46) against disease incidence. Public health surveillance systems in Nigeria need to be strengthened at both national and subnational levels to enhance their effectiveness. Increased funding for vaccination campaigns and improved data collection methods are recommended to reduce disease risk. public health surveillance, multilevel regression, Nigeria, disease risk reduction
