AbstractRoot-knot nematode is a destructive pest of many crops including pulses. Lentil crop is highly susceptible to Meloidogyne spp. and exhibits significant yield reduction. An experiment was conducted in the nematode sick fields (2000 M. javanica juveniles/kg soil). The investigation revealed varying degree of susceptibility of the screened 50 entries of lentil to the nematode. Any entry was not found resistant to M. javanica. However, the lentil entry IC-248969 expressed moderate resistance, while rest 49 entries showed moderate to high degree of susceptibility to the nematode.
