AbstractThe study is aimed to determine the bio-efficacy of neem and wild sunflower leaf powders against root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita (2560 juveniles/250 cm3) infecting Cock’s comb in field plots. The plants grown in the nematode infested soil developed extensive galling (4.1 GI on 0-5 scale), and exhibited significant reduction in the plant growth and yield of Cock’s comb. However, the Cock’s comb grown with the neem and wild sunflower leaf powders had higher growth and yield parameters compared to the control. The root galling, nematode population and nematode multiplication index were significantly reduced due to treatments with neem and wild sunflower leaf powder. Based on the effectiveness, application of neem and wild sunflower leaf powders can be recommended for the management of root-knot nematode in commercial production of Cock’s comb.
