The X-29 aircraft Research Flight is one of the most creative flight designs in the history of aviation. In addition to its well known forward swept wing design, the X-29 aircraft was equipped with variable camber wing surface, and super-critically thin airfoils. The X-29 aircraft also exhibited the aerodynamic effects like canard effect, aeroelastic tailoring and, active controls. In this article we review the design of X-29 plane and describe its unique geometry using OpenVSP software. We also use python for analysing the geometry and plot the relationship between different aerodynamic coefficients and with varying angle of attack.
