The article analyzes the distribution, taxonomic composition, and ecological characteristics of representatives of the family Asteraceae Bercht. & J. Presl in the flora of the relict mountains of the Kyzylkum. The flora of the relict mountains of Central Kyzylkum was selected as the object of the study. The results indicate that within the flora of the relict mountains of the Kyzylkum Desert, the family Asteraceae is one of the leading polymorphic families in terms of both species richness and the degree of ecological adaptation. In several areas, representatives of this family clearly exhibit features characteristic of desert flora. During the study, a significant number of endemic and subendemic species of Kyzylkum belonging to the family Asteraceae were identified, and their spatial distribution, as well as their role in flora formation and desertification processes, was demonstrated.
