Determining a certain level of aircraft value, or aircraft valuation, is an integral part of aviation and related business. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify in advance: Why do the valuation and what is the purpose of such a result. In the case of selling an aircraft, investigating aircraft accidents or related damage to it, or determining the amount of insurance premium, it is necessary to know the value of a specific aircraft – but what type of value? The article describes one of methods for valuing the aircraft. The first part of the article describes the introduction and the current state of the aircraft valuation. The main part of the article contains a description of the Direct Comparison Method, which results into the market value of the aircraft and the checking the valuation via a global database. The conclusion of the article contains a summary and discussion.
