Satellites have the potential to fundamentally change how internet is provided around the world. Requiring no infrastructure spending on the ground, it can connect people to the internet even in remote locations. To achieve this, satellites must become cheaper to manufacture and send into low earth orbit. Recently the use of Risley prisms in antenna systems has gained attention due to its simplicity, light weight and ease of manufacture. This project aims to further improve the compactness of the Risley prism. To achieve this, a design was developed with materials and dimensions to be satisfactory with industry standards. The project highlighted the solution as viable in simulation, but more testing and more accurate manufacturing must be done to prove its viability for real-world application.
